The Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) of India is in the process of drafting a Technology Vision for the year 2047, with the vision narrative "Striding towards tech independence - A self-reliant and climate resilient developed India". In this regard, TIFAC and the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) are hosting a brainstorming workshop on May 1-2, 2023.
A total of 48 speakers, consisting of 8 speakers per theme, will participate in the two-day brainstorming workshop to discuss and deliberate on the various aspects of the Technology Vision 2047 under the 6 different themes. The themes aim to identify emerging technologies, sustainable development, climate change, social and economic impacts, and more, that can give India an edge over other nations in the long run of 2047. The recommendations and inputs gathered during the workshop will be used to shape the vision document, which will be finalized and presented to the government.
Apart from the expert speakers, a Student Conclave consisting of around 200 students will also be held to gather feedback and include their views in the Technology Vision 2047 process. The conclave aims to provide an opportunity for young minds to voice their opinions and contribute towards shaping the future of India's technological development.
